The Nordic Tripartite Dialogue on the Green Transition on the Nordic Labour Market

The Icelandic Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour is organizing the conference Green Transition on the Nordic Labour Market: A Tripartite Dialogue which will take place on December 1st 2023 at Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre in Reykjavík, Iceland.

A green and just transition on the labour market is one of Iceland’s priorities during its presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers in 2023 and this event is an important contribution to that.

A brand new report by Nordregio provides background and insights for the discussions at the conference, covering green transition impacts, just transition strategies, and Nordic best practices.

Nordregio points out that the exchange of best practices among the Nordic countries and strengthening of social dialogue could be an enabler to achieving a just Nordic green transition based on economic growth, social justice and a steady path towards carbon neutrality.

It could also be an important step towards achieving the Nordic vision of being the most sustainable and integrated region in the world by 2030.

An important dialogue


The aim of the event is to create a dialogue between high level representatives from Nordic Social Partners and the Nordic Labour Market Ministers on the challenges and opportunities of the green transition on the Nordic Labour Market.

The annual meeting of the Nordic Labour Market Ministers will take place in Reykjavík the day before, so a broad participation from governments as well as Nordic Social Partners is expected.
