Elections

The National Electoral Commission is an independent administrative committee that oversees the conduct of elections and the implementation of election laws. These include elections to the national parliament, Althingi; presidential elections; municipal elections; and referenda.
The National Electoral Commission reports administratively to the Ministry of Justice.
